Okay, so this book was weird. A little weirder than I thought it was going to be going into it. Vampire babies, creepy motherhood, body horror, and an OBGYN weird. I love reading Vampire novels. I started out with Anne Rice (Interview with a Vampire baby!) and I even devoured Twilight (‘This is the skin of a killer Bella‘).

I really appreciated how different the vampire lore was in Milkteeth, honestly, there are only so many ways you can rewrite “hot vampire bites someone” before it starts feeling a little repetitive. Milkteeth definitely did not have that problem.

It was gross, uncomfortable, all while maintaining it’s strong pull on my attention. There were a few parts that felt a little slower or more clinical than I personally wanted in the book, but I stayed curious enough to keep going because I needed to know where all of this bizarre vampire-mom chaos was headed and I was not disappointed.

This probably will not be for everyone, but if you like strange horror that makes you stop and think, “What in the actual hell am I reading?” you might have fun with it.
