So, naturally, I started a series with book three. I didn’t realize Corpse Creek was the third Bleak Haven book when I started it, but thankfully I never really felt lost. I liked this one a lot more than I expected to, and now I’m definitely going to go back and read the first two because apparently I do everything backwards in my life.

The characters felt really authentic and were probably my favorite part. I really love character development in books and this book didn’t disappoint. My only real complaint was that some of the inner dialogue felt a little too old for teenagers. There were definitely moments where I was like… okay, what teenager is thinking like this? But it wasn’t enough to pull me out of the story. I still say enthralled with the story.

If I had to sum this book up it would be: Creepy town, cursed creek, dead brother possibly coming back and everything obviously getting increasingly worse.

Yeah, this was very much my kind of weird. I am really glad I picked this one up, even if I accidentally jumped into Bleak Haven halfway through.

Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
